Darren McCauley in action for Coleraine in the month of September.

BELLEEK PLAYER OF THE MONTH

Coleraine winger Darren McCauley has been named the Belleek Player of the Month for September.

NIFWA selected McCauley for his fine performances in the month, which seen him register six goals, with doubles against Glenavon, Ards and Carrick Rangers.

McCauley, a student currently based in Dublin, said, "I'm delighted to win this award. It's a real honour and I'd like to thank the Football Writers' for recognising me.

"I'm very fortunate because I'm playing in a great team and under a great manager in Oran Kearney. I could not have won this award without them.

"The main thing, however, is not goals or individual awards, it's the fact that we remain unbeaten, which is a massive achievement."

Dungannon Swifts defender Chris Hegarty was second, while Glenavon midfielder Mark Sykes was third.
