GLENAVON FACE DERRY CITY XI IN MARK FARREN FUNDRAISER

GLENAVON will play an ex-Derry City XI on Thursday evening at Mourneview Park (7.45pm) in a game that will raise vital funds for Mark Farren to enable him to receive urgent cancer treatment in Germany.

Mark, who recently underwent a third brain operation, played for both sides and was part of the Derry City team who had a famous UEFA Cup run in 2006, many of whom will be playing in Thursday’s match.

Glenavon manager Gary Hamilton has appealed for fans of all clubs to come out and show their support for Mark at Thursday's match.

"I'm sure all the good people around the clubs will come out and support Mark in this very serious situation in his life," said Hamilton.

Glenavon staff and non-playing players will also take up a bucket collection during the game with admission prices at £10 adults, £7 concession and £5 primary school children.
