The NI Football League are deeply saddened by the passing of former Cliftonville manager Tommy Breslin.

NI Football League Managing Director, Andrew Johnston stated; “We are deeply shocked with the sad news of the sudden death of Tommy Breslin.

“He was a hugely popular figure in local football circles and will be fondly remembered as the first manager to win the Premiership title after the formation of NIFL in 2013.”

“On behalf of the NI Football League, we would like to wish our sincere condolences to the Breslin family and Tommy’s friends at this sad time.”

A former player with the Reds, Tommy Breslin won back-to-back Premiership titles with Cliftonville in 2012/13 and 2013/2014 before leaving the club in September 2015, and returned for a short spell as interim manager in April 2017.
