Sion Swifts have completed the double signing of Linfield captain Kirsty McGuinness alongside her sister Caitlin.

Kirsty was the star player for the Blues as they pipped Sion to the Danske Bank Women’s Premiership title last year, netting a remarkable 32 goals in her 21 matches.

Striker Caitlin was also prolific in her debut campaign at this level, finishing the campaign with 19 goals to her name, including scoring seven goals in one game against Comber Rec.

Northern Ireland international Kirsty became Blues captain in April 2019 having re-joined the club in 2013 following a spell at Glentoran.

25-year-old Kirsty also stars in Ladies' Gaelic football for Antrim GAA while her sister Caitlin, 17, has won five caps for her country and is widely regarded as one of the brightest stars in the league.

Sion Swifts were runners-up in the Premiership last year and are aiming for their first ever top-flight title.
