Linfield forward Shayne Lavery and Glentoran goalkeeper Dayle Coleing were both in action for their respective countries in the recent UEFA Nations League fixtures.

Lavery picked up his fifth cap for Northern Ireland in the familiar surroundings of Windsor Park in the disappointing 5-1 defeat to Norway. The Linfield forward came on as a 77th minute substitute in Ian Baraclough’s first home game in charge of Northern Ireland.

Shayne had also been an unused substitute in Bucharest on Friday evening as Northern Ireland picked up a late point through former Crusaders winger Gavin Whyte in their UEFA Nations League B clash against Romania.

Michael Smith (Ballyclare Comrades & Ballymena United), Stuart Dallas (Crusaders), Liam Boyce (Cliftonville) were all former Irish League players who featured on the pitch over the two games.

In Gibraltar, Glentoran’s new signing Dayle Coeling kept a clean sheet for his country in their 1-0 win over San Marino in League D on Saturday, which took Gibraltar to the top of their group.
