The second round of post-split fixtures produced Danske Bank Premiership victories for Linfield, Larne, Glenavon, Ballymena United and Warrenpoint Town while it finished all square at The Oval.

Linfield put one hand on the Gibson Cup following a 3-1 defeat of Crusaders at Windsor Park, a win that leaves David Healy's side eight points clear at the top with three games remaining.

Mark Stafford opened the scoring for the Blues after a quarter-of-an-hour with a back post finish from Kirk Millar's corner, but the Crues levelled through Ben Kennedy early in the second half.

However, Shayne Lavery restored home advantage around the hour mark before Jordan Forsythe turned the ball into his own net under pressure from Joel Cooper in the final few minutes.

Glentoran and Coleraine cancelled each other out at The Oval with a third draw between the sides in less than a month.

The Bannsiders hold a slender advantage over the Glens in the battle for second place, and levelled on the night in the closing moments through Stephen Lowry after Rory Donnelly had initially edged Glentoran in front with less than a quarter-of-an-hour remaining.

David McDaid struck twice from the spot as Larne got the better of Cliftonville at Solitude. He opened the scoring just before half-time after Ryan Curran was adjudged to have handled a Martin Donnelly free-kick, but Barry Coffey levelled for the Reds early in the second period. However, McDaid bagged his second penalty of the evening just before the hour, this time awarded following a Daniel Kearns foul on Dylan Mottley-Henry inside the area.

In Section B both Glenavon and Ballymena United knocked four goals past Portadown and Carrick Rangers respectively in the tussle for the end of season European play-off spot.

A frantic ending to the first half at Mourneview Park saw Lee Bonis fire the Ports in front before Andrew Doyle levelled almost straightaway for Gary Hamilton's side. Matthew Fitzpatrick then bagged a second half brace for the Lurgan Blues with number four coming via an Adam McCallum own goal late on.

In the streamed game at the Loughshore Hotel Arena, Ballymena United kept a clean sheet in their defeat of Carrick Rangers. Trai Hume opened the scoring on the stroke of half-time, Shay McCartan hit two after the break to bring his tally for the season to 17 while Joe McCready wrapped the scoring up in the dying embers of the game.

Meanwhile, Warrenpoint Town edged past Dungannon Swifts at Stangmore Park in stoppage time when Brandon Doyle scrambled home the loose ball after his initial spot-kick had been kept out by Roy Carroll.
