It was a great week to be on the road in the Sports Direct Women's Premiership as Cliftonville Ladies, Sion Swifts Ladies, Glentoran Women and Lisburn Ladies all cruised to comfortable victories away from home.

Linfield Women bucked that trend, however, with a comprehensive defeat of Crusaders Strikers at Midgley Park.

The action began on Wednesday evening as defending champions Cliftonville found their shooting boots with a thumping defeat of Derry City Women at The Brandywell.

It was a night to remember for Fi Morgan. She opened the scoring for the Reds after 12 minutes, doubled her tally early in the second half and then claimed the match ball with her third of the evening in stoppage time.

Marissa Callaghan also bagged a brace to bring her total for the campaign to four in two games, with other goals coming from Kirsty McGuinness, Victoria Carleton, debutant Claire Shaw and Danielle Maxwell.

Glentoran hit six without reply past Mid Ulster Ladies at the Mid Ulster Sports Arena.

Caragh Hamilton fired the visitors in front as early as the opening minute before Nadene Caldwell added a second midway through the first half.

Kerry Beattie then added to the score with a couple of goals not long after the interval, with Demi Vance and Samantha Kelly extended Glentoran’s lead in the final quarter-of-an-hour.

Sion Swifts raced into a three goal lead inside the opening 20 minutes on their way to a 6-0 defeat over Ballymena United Women at The Showgrounds.

Chloe McGlade struck inside the first minute, followed by a Cora Chambers strike soon after and a third from Teegan Lynch.

But that was how it stayed until a flurry of activity in the final moments of the game. Lauren Haynes headed home from a corner on 84 minutes, Saoirse Healey made it five sixty seconds after that with a long curling effort into the top corner before Kerryanne Brown wrapped things up with a half volley right at the end.

Moving onto Friday evening Stacey Murdough hit a hat-trick as Lisburn Ladies travelled to Inver Park to knock five goals past Larne Women.

Michelle McDaid opened the scoring with just over a quarter-of-an-hour on the clock before Hollie Johnston levelled for Larne around five minutes later.

However Murdough fired home two goals in as many minutes towards the end of the first before grabbing her third of the evening just after the hour. McDaid then doubled her own tally on 72 minutes with Amanda Morton slotting home a stoppage time consolation spot-kick for the home side.

Meanwhile, at Midgley Park, Keri Halliday also claimed the match ball as Linfield swept past the Crues.

The sides traded goals midway through the first half as Mia Fitzsimmons' 22nd minute opener was answered by Beth Chalmers.

Halliday then scored twice in two minutes to leave the Blues very much on top going in at the break. She then knocked home her hat-trick goal just after the hour to settle the game as a contest.

Faith Johnston hit a second for the Strikers in stoppage time, but there was still time after that for Emily Reid to restore Linfield's three goal advantage.
