Ballymacash Rangers celebrate one of their seven goals at the Bluebell

The penultimate Saturday in the Playr-Fit Premier Intermediate League produced victories for Limavady United, Moyola Park, Rathfriland Rangers, Lisburn Distillery and Ballymacash Rangers.

Limavady are on the cusp of clinching the league title following their two-goal defeat of Tobermore United at Fortwilliam Park.

First half goals from Ian Parkhill and Lewis Tosh proved enough for the Roesiders, who now sit three points clear at the top with two games left to play and can only be caught on goal difference by Armagh City.

The Eagles squandered a three-goal lead away to Coagh United and had to settle for a point in the end.

Matthew Butler, Igor Rutkowski and Scott McCann all found the net as Shea Campbell’s side looked to be romping to victory but Coagh hit back through Aaron Campbell, Fiontan O’Boyle and Mark Kelly to earn a share of the spoils.

Rathfriland Rangers kept up their hopes of finishing in the play-off spot following a 4-1 win on the road at Queen’s University.

Leon Bonnes had fired the Students in front but Rangers hit back through Brian Johnston and Jack Chambers to lead at the break, with Andrew Kilmartin and Harry Campbell adding further goals in the second half.

Ballymacash Rangers are also still in contention, and they boosted their goal difference with a thumping 7-1 victory over PSNI at the Bluebell Stadium.

A Ben Mitchell own goal in the opening few minutes set ‘Cash on their way to an emphatic victory that produced two goals apiece for Carl McComb, Dylan Sinnerton and Michael Moore.

Elsewhere, a John Boyle own goal early in the second half proved enough for Moyola Park to get the better of Warrenpoint Town at Milltown while Ryan McNickle’s 12th minute finish helped Lisburn Distillery to the points from Portstewart’s visit to Ballyskeagh.
