Premier Intermediate League side Warrenpoint Town have announced the appointment of Gary Boyle as their new permanent manager.

Boyle steps into the role at Milltown to replace interim boss John Gill who stepped down following Saturday's draw with Portstewart, and Boyle had been assisting Gill since his own departure from Newry City earlier in the season.

In a statement released via their social media outlets, the club said:

"Warrenpoint Town Football Club can confirm the appointment of Gary Boyle as first team manager on a permanent basis.

"Gary's vision and knowledge of both the club and local community align with the direction the club would like to move in. Since joining the club in January, Gary has become familiar with the playing staff and knows the work that needs to be carried out in order to be successful.

"We look forward to moving into this new era of WTFC, and we are confident that Gary is the perfect person to lead that."
