It’s the season that you just can’t take your eyes off! Next Tuesday night the Sports Direct Premiership split fixtures will be finally revealed.

Only two big games of the roller-coaster regular season remain on Tuesday 2 April 2024, which will determine the final placings for the ‘split’ and map out the final fixtures for one of the most exciting title races in recent years.

Those two huge Premiership games next week will have a major baring on the destiny of the Gibson Cup as Carrick Rangers host Linfield, and Cliftonville take on Larne both kicking off at 7.45pm.

The eagerly anticipated final five rounds of ‘split’ fixtures will be determined following the conclusion of these matches on Tuesday night exclusively on the NI Football League website and social media channels.

Ahead of the first post-split matches, the formula for the opening round of the split (matchday 34) can be revealed to assist supporters and clubs with their planning and arrangements.

Saturday 6 April

Section A
1st v 5th (Crusaders)
2nd v 4th (Glentoran)
3rd (Cliftonville) v 6th

Section B
7th v 11th (Ballymena United)
8th v 10th (Dungannon Swifts)
9th (Glenavon) v 12th (Newry City)

The venues for these final matches shall be determined by the previous meetings in the initial 33 matches to provide a balance of fixtures which ensures all teams complete two matches at ‘home’ and two matches ‘away’ against the teams in their respective sections.

Follow the journey of the climax of this season’s Sports Direct Premiership on the NI Football League’s official platforms and through live games throughout the split on BBC Sport NI, as the destiny of the Gibson Cup, the race for Europe and the battle to avoid relegation all remain up for grabs and too tight to call!
