DONNELLY LEVELLER MOVES LARNE BACK INTO TOP SIX
Larne crept back into the top six thanks to the point gained from this draw with Institute at Inver Park.
Fuad Sule almost got Tiernan Lynch's side off to the perfect start when, as early as the second minute, he rattled the crossbar from 20 yards with a left-foot strike.
At the other end Colm McLaughlin saw a half-volley comfortably held by keeper Conor Devlin before moments later Institute were awarded a penalty when Joe McCready was fouled by Shane McEleney with the 'Stute striker stepping up to send Devlin the wrong way.
Larne levelled five minutes later when Sean Graham found Johnny McMurray with a ball from the left who, in turn, found Martin Donnelly to curl the equaliser past Rory Brown from just inside the box.
McCready almost restored Institute's lead soon after but his 20-yard effort rose before being tipped over by Devlin.
Davy McDaid had two chances later in the first half to edge Larne in front but he could only fire the first over before Gareth Brown then denied him with a sliding tackle.
McCready was a constant threat for 'Stute but could only finish tamely early in the second half.
The sides continued to trade chances as the game progressed. McDaid forced a low save from Brown midway through the second half while, in the final ten minutes, Aidan McCauley sent a free-kick over before Harry Flowers headed just wide at the back post from Lee Lynch's corner.
