The NI Football League in partnership with The Football Management Company are delighted to welcome a new intake to scholars into the NIFL Academy Scholarship Programme.

Now into the second year, the programme provides further education alongside additional training opportunities to over 40 talented young players from within the NI Football League.

The programme aims to build on the first year where players received;

- BTEC qualification

- High level football coaching and training in high performance gym

- Playing experience against English Academies

- Team tour to Portugal

- Gain their own coaching experience and qualification

Speaking about the programme NIFL Development Manager Steven Mills said;

‘We are committed to youth development within NIFL and the programme supports the ambitions of young players and our clubs by providing much needed additional contact time an learning. With representation from no fewer than 10 Premiership and 5 Championship clubs we are delighted that a number of scholars have already progressed to make debut within our senior leagues.’
