Bluefin Sport Championship side Ballyclare Comrades have parted company with manager Clifford Adams.

A club statement read; “After discussions with manager Clifford Adams, it has been decided, by mutual consent, to end his tenure as first team manager."

"We would like to put on record our appreciation for the work put in by Clifford and his dedication during his time at the Club. We also wish him every success in the future."

"Clifford has asked us to place on record his thanks to the fans for their support and that he wishes the Club all the very best for the future."

"We are not currently seeking applications for the position of first team manager. The Committee will meet later in the week to consider the way forward."

The announcement comes with one game remaining for the Comrades in the Championship as they currently occupy fifth place in the table, having been ruled out of a potential promotion playoff place.

Formerly manager of Ballymena United Reserves and Wakehurst, Adams took over at Dixon Park in March 2017, having succeeded Stephen Hughes at the East Antrim club.

Next up: Ballyclare Comrades’ final game of the season sees them travel to Loughgall in the Bluefin Sport Championship (kick-off: 3pm)
