Ards collected their first win of the season but they had to come from behind to do so at New Grosvenor Stadium.

The Whites moved in front after 11 minutes through Martin Jones who picked the ball up inside the area before beating Graeme McKibbin with an assured finish.

Ards responded within three minutes courtesy of an Owain Beggs headed beyond Ryan McBride after Gary Warwick had delivered the ball from the left.

That was how it stayed until the 67th minute when Beggs doubled his tally for the afternoon with a low drive into the bottom corner.

Tommy Kincaid's side were reduced to nine men with a quarter-of-an-hour remaining.

Referee Chris Morrison awarded a penalty to Ards after spotting a Ciaran Burns infringement on James Cully.

However this was hotly disputed by the Whites and once the dust settled both Kieran O'Connor and Stephen Doyle had received their marching orders for dissent - while the aforementioned Cully stepped up to knock home the spot-kick.

Ards lost a man themselves with a couple of minutes remaining when Willie Faulkner was shown the third red card of the game for violent conduct.
