With the split fast approaching the teams in the Bluefin Sport Championship it’s yet another action packed weekend of football this weekend.

The final pre-split fixtures will now be played on Thursday evening following the postponement of Dergview v Loughgall, to retrain sporting integrity, which resulted in a reshuffle of the fixtures which include the postponement of Portadown v Larne at Shamrock Park.

There are a total of five fixtures this weekend with Institute taking on Newry City in the top of the table clash. ‘Stute moved six points clear at the top of the table after a 1-0 win over PSNI midweek and will be hoping to continue their impressive run of form at Wilton Park on Saturday. A win for Paddy McLaughlin’s side would see them stretch their unbeaten league run to five games.

Second-placed Ballyclare Comrades welcome Knockbreda to Dixon Park. The Comrades will be hoping to pick up all three points to keep their hopes of automatic promotion alive, whilst it’s a must win for Knockbreda as they have to win and hope results elsewhere go their way to keep their top six ambitions alive.

H&W Welders find themselves fourth in the table and well in contention for the play-off position should they maintain their good run of form this season. The Welders enjoyed a 2-1 victory against

PSNI last time out and they will be aiming to follow this up with another three points when they face bottom placed Lurgan Celtic on Saturday.

Dergview take on Limavady United this weekend. Both sides find themselves languishing near the bottom of the table with both sides hoping to pick up all three points on Saturday.

The weekend’s final fixture sees Loughgall welcome PSNI to Lakeview Park. Loughgall enjoyed a 3-0 away victory over PSNI last time out and manager Dean Smith will be aiming to ensure three points gives them a chance of making the top six when they play their re-arranged game with Dergview next week.
