'BREDA HIT ROESIDERS FOR SIX TO SECURE CHAMPIONSHIP SURVIVAL

Knockbreda produced a winning performance to hit Limavady United for six and secure their Championship status for another season.

'Breda needed to better Dergview's result against PSNI in order to avoid being dragged into the relegation play-off.

Brendan Bennett opened the scoring after six minutes with a low finish past Ray Kelly following good work by Ryan Newberry.

The Roesiders levelled on 11 minutes courtesy of a cracking Ryan Logue volley from around 25-yards but 'Breda regained the advantage just before the half-hour mark when Jamie Patterson bundled the ball over the line from a corner.

With one eye on events at Dergview's game 'Breda started the second half well and on 48 minutes extended their lead after good work in the box by Michael Halliday found Michael O'Hanlon who sidefooted into the net from ten yards.

The points were sealed just after the hour when Halliday and then Newberry, from the spot, added a couple of more goals for Lee Forsythe's side.

But perhaps the best goal of the game was kept for the end when Patterson doubled his tally with a powerful header.
