COAGH UNITED 2-1 LIMAVADY UNITED

COAGH United emerged victorious from this bottom of the table clash with Limavady United at Hagan Park.

They needed just four minutes to open the scoring when Jason Gillespie converted a penalty awarded after Bryan McClelland was adjudged to have handled in the area.

Then, barely sixty seconds later, the lead was doubled as Gillespie was first to a loose clearance to volley a fine effort past the flailing arm of Roesdiers 'keeper Connor Brown.

The visitors might have dragged themselves back into the game on nine minutes when they were awarded a penalty after the assistant referee spotted an infringement only for Coagh 'keeper William Hassan to guess correctly to thwart Paul Brown

Undeterred, Limavady kept plugging away. First McClelland flashed a header wide of the post from a corner, then Paul Brown had a free header from Cathair Friel's cross, but put it straight at Hassan.

Then on 21 minutes Declan Logue's perceptive through ball put in Johnathan Hume but his snap shot went just past the post. Three minutes later Brown had a brilliant effort, collecting Friel's pass and shooting low for the corner, but Hassan made a stunning finger tip save.

United were dominant all over the pitch, but had a scare on 31 minutes when Jamie Tomelty's free kick at the edge of the box was blazed wide by Marcus Dallas.

Limavady got the goal their play deserved on 35 minutes, when Logue's long ball was collected by Brown, who took his time before picking his spot and scoring low in the box, despite Hassan getting a hand to the ball.

There were fewer goal mouth incidents after the break although Hume had the ball in the net on 59 minutes but was flagged for offside.

On 67 minutes Tomelty had a rare chance for Coagh, but Brown was down smartly at his near post to save.

Harkin hit back on 75, collecting a flick on and unleashing a volley that Hassan saved brilliantly. Next minute Hume volleyed just over after sustained pressure. As the clock ran down the game was being played in Coagh's half, with the home side confined to attacking on the break.
