COMRADES COMMEMORATE 100 YEARS OF HISTORY

Ballyclare Comrades will step back in time this season to commemorate 100 years of history with a new look badge and club kit in the Bluefin Sport Championship.

The Comrades history began in February 1919 when the club borrowed a kit from an old football team in the town called Ollardale which became defunct during the First World War.

By August of the same year the club had bought their first strip of red and white striped jerseys costing ten old pence each. The striped shirts came back for a few seasons in the 1970’s after Southampton won the FA Cup in England in 1976.

The new centenary badge adorns the stylish new shirt in a design that originated from the centenary pin badge commissioned by Gary Wallace and was agreed fitting that it be part of the 100th year of the County Antrim club.
