COMRADES KEEP TITLE CHARGE GOING AT DIXON PARK

Comrades got their reward for an impressive start to the game, when they opened the scoring in the 26th minute. A free-kick was won near the touchline and Samuel McIlveen whipped in a superbly delighted ball, which flew in at the far post after Jason Johnston jumped over it deceiving the 'keeper.

Inside the first minute of the second half the Ports were level, when Adam Salley beat the offside trap and advanced to finish from 9 yards.

A minute later, Comrades were back in front with what proved to be the winning goal. Gary Brown eluded a tackle in the box and got free to fire home from eight yards.

The home side were able to withstand some late Portadown pressure to secure a deserved win.
