Dergview gave their survival hopes a great boost with victory over Ballyclare Comrades at Dixon Park.

Ivan Sproule's side, needing just a point from their remaining games to avoid being dragged into the play-offs, moved into the lead after 20 minutes when Emmett McGuckin knocked home a penalty.

However, Jamie Willighan levelled for Ballyclare six minutes later, again from the spot.

That was how it stayed until six minutes into the second half when McGuckin doubled his tally for the afternoon before extending Dergview's advantage on 69 minutes to claim his hat-trick.

Ballyclare narrowed the deficit with the third penalty of the game, again slotted home by Willighan, with three minutes to go but there wasn't enough time for the Comrades to salvage a point.
