Larne stretched their unbeaten run to 14 games with this defeat of Lurgan Celtic at Inver Park.

Despite a scoreless first half both sides did have their chances with Larne going closest before the break when David McDaid blasted an effort against the crossbar while, for Celtic, Ruairi McDonald fizzed an early strike just wide from distance.

Martin Donnelly might have broken the deadlock early in the second half only to be thwarted by a goalline clearance but he wasn't to be denied soon after with a double to secure the points.

He opened the scoring on the hour with a low finish into the bottom right corner after taking the ball past a number of defenders.

Then, a couple of minutes after that, the former Cliftonville man got on the end of a McDaid through ball to go past 'keeper Shane McPartland and slot into the empty net.

The visitors might have pulled one back through seperate efforts from Kevin and Andrew McAlinden but their task was made even more difficult following Jordan Gibson's late dismissal for a second caution.
