Jamie Douglas' late double sealed the Boxing Day points for Portadown from Loughgall's visit to Shamrock Park.
Portadown created the first effort of note after five minutes when Sean Mackle pounced on some poor defending to test Gareth Buchanan with a low 25-yard drive while, a little later, Ross Larkin fired over after connecting with a corner.
At the other end Peter Campbell almost found a way through after combining with Nathaniel Ferris but the Ports defence dealt with the threat before David McCullough sent a looping ball into the box which Declan Dunne just about managed to push away.
After the break Canpbell teamed up with Ferris again but the latter could only send his curling effort wide of the target.
Further chances followed for the Villagers, but they were thwarted by a goalline clearance and a Greg Hall header.
But Loughgall eventually found a way through on 68 minutes through Steven Ferguson when he got the final touch to a looping ball over Dunne to turn the ball into the net.
Portadown levelled six minutes from time when Douglas swept home his first of the afternoon after meeting Mackle's run and cross down the right.
Then, right at the end, Douglas doubled his tally to seal the points for Portadown with a sidefoot into the corner after Chris Lavery's cross wasn't cleared.
