Dundela returned to the top of the Bluefin Sport Championship thanks to a comprehensive 3-1 defeat of Queen's University at Wilgar Park.

The sides traded chances during the opening half-an-hour with the Duns coming closest early on when Ross Holden used his pace to get past the defence only to send a 20-yard effort just wide of the left post while, for Queen's, Philip Traynor forced keeper Ryan McBride into a save with a shot from the edge of the six-yard box.

Eoin Kane broke the deadlock on 36 minutes with a half volley from the edge of the area into the bottom corner after David McMaster had headed the ball on.

Then, in first half stoppage time, Carl McComb made it 2-0 after a Holden shot had been parried into his path.

Queen's came close early in the second half through a lobbed effort from substitute David Magee before, on 68 minutes, they did pull one back through Jonah Mitchell who beat McBride with a low snapshot from around 20 yards.

However Tiarnan McNicholl restored Dundela's two-goal cushion right at the end after Holden picked him out on the break.
