Robbie Hume bagged a hat-trick as Limavady United swept to a 6-0 defeat of Lurgan Celtic at The Showgrounds.

But it was Joel Bradley who opened the scoring after five minutes when he was alert to a left wing cross into the box to nip in front of his marker to get a decisive touch and place the ball past the static Caolan Cush.

The contest was effectively over seven minutes later, as a long ball down the middle from Graham Crown was expertly controlled by Hume, who duly dispatched the ball into the net under the advancing 'keeper.

Celtic created their first chance in the 36th minute, as Paul Wells was caught off his line but a long range dipping free kick from Ruairi McDonald flew wide and over the bar.

However, the Roesiders extended their lead soon after as Andrew Devlin put Hume in on goal again, and once he wriggled free of his marker the outcome was never in doubt, and he ruthlessly stabbed the ball home.

That was how it stayed until three goals in the final ten minutes compounded Limavady's dominance.

Hume turned provider on 83 minutes, expertly setting up Zach Barr with a deft touch to steer the ball home. He was at it again four minutes later, as his canny flick freed Joe McCready on the edge of the box, and he collected the ball on the left of the box before scoring with aplomb.

However it was Hume who scored the goal of the game to claim the match ball in the final minute, with a powerful hooked volley into the top corner past Cush.
