Sencer Yilmaz, Larne

ADAM Dick fired Larne in front on eight minutes.

George Young made a run towards the penalty box. The ball broke to Niall McAllister at the edge of the box, who passed to Dick at the left hand side of the penalty area who struck a firm volley across McCormick into the far corner.

Four minutes later, Paul Maguire doubled the lead. A goal kick from Henry was flicked into Maguire’s path by Yilmaz. Larne’s top scorer steered the ball past the onrushing goalkeeper with ease.

Whilst Larne had established a good lead, Limavady continued to pose a threat and there was a real sense that the home side needed a third goal to settle the match.

The third goal came eventually, but not until the second minute of the second half.

Yilmaz picked up possession thirty yards from goal, turned his man and his instinctive dipping shot flew over McCormick into the Limavady goal.

However, the goal was cancelled out almost immediately. Trevor Parkhill smacked a volley from the edge of the box past David Henry.

It was a double setback for Larne as Henry sustained a shoulder injury which ended his involvement in the game.

On 55 minutes, it looked like Larne had restored a three goal lead by Paul Maguire.

Marc Brown saw his initial shot across goal palmed away by McCormick and Maguire was on hand to bundle home the rebound. However, the goal was ruled out for offside.

Limavady got back within touching distance on the hour when Gareth McConaghie forced a low free kick into the net from the edge of the penalty area.

With ten minutes left on the clock Marc Brown netted his own free kick in spectacular style. His thirty yard effort flew into the top corner to finally decide the game.
