WARRENPOINT'S first visit to Rathmore Road was a memorable one for Keith Johnston as the diminutive striker bagged a hat trick as United crashed to a record defeat in the Championship.

In hail, snow, and torrential rain both sides started briskly but the visitors took the lead on 16 minutes when Johnston played on as United's defenders wrongly looked for an offside flag and fired low into the net.

The second half was a real horror show for the Roesiders, who hoped to get a good start, but instead conceded another nine minutes in as Johnston again cut through the heart of the defence to collect a precise pass and prod the ball under McCormick.

On 61 minutes the nervous Limavady defence back pedalled and allowed Sean McMullan time and space to fire in the third from distance.

United made a triple substitution with 20 minutes to go but to no avail, as the visitors were playing with confidence and it was no surprise when they got a fourth on 73 minutes as Johnston again finished as United's defence appealed for offside.

United were now in total disarray and it was a mercy when the final whistle went with no more conceded.

The Roesiders had no chances at all in the second half and have now gone 4 games without a goal.
