MALLARDS KEEP RUN GOING

It is now five league games unbeaten for Ballinamallard United following this defeat of Knockbreda.

Harry McConkey's side started well with a confident passng game, albeit without really threatening 'Breda keeper Piaras Toolan other than an early Joshua McIlwaine effort while his opposite number, John Connolly, was called into action to deal with a low shot to his left.

Darragh McBrien opened the scoring on 67 minutes with a direct free-kick from 25 yards out which went through the suspect home wall and low into the corner.

Then, ten minutes, Richard Clarke added a second from the spot by sending Toolan the wrong way after McBrien had been brought crashing down after working past a couple of defenders.

'Breda did grab a stoppage time consolation through Brendan Bennett with a fine 20-yard finish.
