Mark McCabe claimed the match ball with a hat-trick as Newry City thumped Loughgall at Lakeview Park.

McCabe opened the scoring after seven minutes with a simple tap-in after Darren King had knocked on a Jimmy Walker cross to the back post.

Then, on 14 minutes, McCabe doubled his tally with a first time effort high into the net after another Walker delivery, this time a long ball forward.

Loughgall were then reduced to ten men halfway through the first half when Marcus Dallas was dismissed following a challenge on Walker as he took the ball forward.

The visitors extended their advantage just before the hour. Once again Walker had a hand in the goal when his free-kick found McCabe whose initial effort was blocked before Stephen Hughes finished clinically from the rebound.

But McCabe did bag his hat-trick goal three minutes from time when Hughes reached him at the far post to volley past Gareth Buchanan.
