Scott McMillan (90)

With both sides chasing points for different reasons it was a feisty affair with neither side conceding anything.

The Welders missing Dougherty and McMurray saw a couple of early chances go amiss, one from David Rainey in the seventeenth minute when his header went wide of the post.

Ryan Deans had a great opportunity to put the Welders in front after thirty five minutes only to see his effort go over the bar.

Both sides were intent on cancelling each other out so, not too many clear cut scoring chances were evident.

Knockbreda started the second half in rousing style as it was fairly evident that there was not going to be many goals forthcoming.

Rainey saw his effort pushed away by 'Breda keeper McKay after fifty minutes and again he made another stop from Scott Davidson preventing an goal bound effort.

The Welders were beginning to press on but the 'Breda defenders kept to their task.

With injury time being played and the small crowd heading for the exit gate came a Welders goal. The ball in the middle of the goal area with everyone trying to get a touch, and then the ball went over the line to record a hard fought victory for the home side.

Controversy continues as to who got the final touch, defenders Gary Spence claiming and Scott McMillan also stating his touch was the last one.
