PORTS BATTLE BACK TO CLAIM POINTS

Portadown twice came from behind to eventually defeat Dundela under the new lights at Wilgar Park.

The win moves Matthew Tipton's side back into third spot in the Bluefin Sport Championship and avenges a four-goal reversal against the east Belfast outfit last month.

The Duns opened the scoring on 35 minutes through David McMaster after he pounced on a Johnny Flynn back header which fell short allowing him to nip in to divert the ball past Declan Dunne.

Portadown levelled before the break, however, when Adam Salley converted from the spot after Sean Mackle had been bundled over inside the box.

Dundela regained the advantage on 57 minutes in similar circumstances to their first when, again, a Flynn header was intercepted, this time by Carl McComb.

But, once more, back came the Ports with Salley's second of the game when he bundled the ball over the line after Gerard Storey had delivered a free-kick into the box.

Dundela were reduced to ten men when Daniel Burns was shown a straight red card by referee Chris Morrison following an off the ball incident with Flynn.

Portadown, themselves, finished the game with nine men right at the end of normal time when both Kevin Braniff (violent conduct) and Adam McCallum (second caution) were dismissed as the tensions rose amongst both sets of players.

However, in stoppage time, the visitors grabbed the winner which sealed the points through substitute Chris Lavery.
