Queen's University stormed back from three goals down to earn a point from Portadown's visit to The Dub.

Despite surrendering such a commanding advantage the point was still enough to move Matt Tipton's side back to the top of the table on goal difference following Loughgall's unexpectedly heavy defeat at home to Ballyclare Comrades.

Portadown moved in front on 14 minutes through Callum Ferris after Queen's keeper Declan Brown spilled his turn and shot from a Lee Bonis flick over the line.

Adam Salley added a second midway through the first half with a volley in off the crossbar after Luke Wilson had whipped a cross into the box.

And the Ports went even further ahead five minutes into the second half through Stephen Teggart after Bonis cut the ball back into his path.

However, two goals in as many minutes just after the hour dragged the Students right back into contention.

Unlucky Ports defender Paul Finnegan touched a Marc McKenna cross into his own net before, moments later, Ciaran O'Hare pulled another one back after keeper Bobby Edwards parried a Jonah Mitchell shot to his feet.

Boosted by this, Queen's duly levelled with seven minutes remaining when Ronan Young curled a sweetly executed free-kick on the right edge of the area over the wall and past Edwards at the near post.
