Adam Salley opened the scoring for Portadown

Portadown moved into third spot in the Bluefin Sport Championship with victory over Ballyclare Comrades at Shamrock Park.

Adam Salley opened the scoring for the Ports midway through the first half with a close range header from Kevin Braniff's free-kick.

The closest Ballyclare came to levelling in the first half was through Eoin Kane's long range effort which sailed over on 36 minutes.

Portadown extended their lead five minutes into the second half through Chris Lavery after his low cross squirmed under keeper Kyle Rowe and over the line.

Then, three minutes after that, Darren Murray added a third with a low volley past Rowe from close range after Salley's cross from the right.

The visitors did get a 67th minute consolation, however, when Ports midfielder Greg Hall nodded the ball into his own net whilst attempting to clear a cross.
