NINE Championship games without a win and Bangor were finally able to celebrate a victory hitting three goals without reply against fellow strugglers Larne at Clandeboye Park on Saturday.

The home side dominated the first half, but spurned a series of good chances with winger Chris Middleton, striker Chris Shimmon and midfielders Keith Armstrong and Thomas Lambe all coming close in the opening 45 minutes.

The breakthrough came on 48 minutes. Gareth McLaughlin was on the spot to head home from ten yards.

Five minutes later Keith Armstrong made it two, heading home a corner on the right by Thomas Lambe.

Sean Cahill put the game beyond doubt on 85 minutes, hooking a defence-splitting through ball by McLaughlin past the keeper from thirteen yards.
