After a scoreless first half during which neither side seemed able to build any momentum, no doubt as a consequence of the number of new faces on show on in both camps.

However, the second period did produce two quality goals as the honours were ultimately shared.

First, on 47 minutes, Larne's Andrew Mooney dragged the ball onto his right foot from the edge of the box before curling it beyond Ryan McBride into the opposite top corner.

'Breda almost levelled just after the hour through after Sammy Devine's volley from inside the box tested 'keeper Joel Madison.

With the visitors content to sit on their lead 'Breda got their reward when, on 82 minutes, a great low cross into the box by Jake McNeill saw David Johnston hit a first time effort off the underside of the crossbar and over the line.
