WARRENPOINT played host to Ards at Milltown and after last week's disappointment at the Welders the home side started the game with a real tempo and presence.

Both sides opened by playing entertaining football creating scoring opportunities before Ards brokie the deadlock on 29 minutes.

Greg Curtis conceded a free kick wide on the right flank, the ball was floated into a crowded six yard box and somehow the ball found its way into the net.

The home side one down had a penalty call dismissed and a goal by captain John Boyle ruled out for offside before the half time break.

The second period began with the same tempo and with ten minutes gone the Point powerhouse Shaun Parr bagged a skilful goal to level terms.

Both teams played the remaining time going for the win.

Gaps appeared and both sides had opportunities however neither capitalised and the game ended in a draw.

The supporters applauded both teams off the pitch for what was an excellent display of footballing ability.

The draw was most likely the fairest results, however probably a better point for the home side.
