BANBRIDGE HIT FIVE TO SECURE THIRD SPOT

Banbridge Town secured third spot in the Bluefin Sport Premier Intermediate League with a comprehensive defeat of Tobermore United at Crystal Park.

Conor Downey opened the scoring after a quarter-of-an-hour before, five minutes later, Stephen Acheson added a second with a powerful header from Ryan Moffatt's corner.

Downey then doubled his tally with ten minutes of the first half remaining which was how it stayed util Tobermore pulled one back through teenager Cameron McArthur on 66 minutes.

However, Banbridge restored their three-goal cushion on 77 minutes after Downey turned provider for Stephen Greene to beat Andy Findlay from his corner with Joe Todd completing the scoring with five minutes left with a chip over the keeper.
