BONNES BAGS WINNER FOR QUEEN'S

Leon Bonnes scored the only goal of the game as Queen's University defeated Sport & Leisure Swifts at Glen Road Heights.

Barry Walsh created the opening with a ball from the right onto which Bonnes ran to send a low shot under the Swifts keeper.

Prior to that Sport & Leisure might have opened the scoring themselves when Darren Gallagher connected with a near post cross only to be denied by Queen's keeper Declan Brown.

After the break Queen's had chances to seal the win. Daniel Hanna's volley went over and Ryan McCready headed over at the far post. As the home team pushed forward near the end, Josh Corry broke away and passed to Bonnes who slotted the ball home but the celebrations were quickly halted by an offside call.
