After just missing out on promotion last season Queen's University began their quest to go one better with a two-goal defeat of Lurgan Celtic at Knockramer Park.
Both goals came a few minutes either side of the break.
Ryan McCready opened the scoring on 39 minutes when he turned a right-wing cross onto the crossbar before clinically converting the rebound past keeper Kieran McKerr.
The visitors doubled their lead ten minutes into the second half thanks to a Matt McManus header into the top right corner.
Celtic's afternoon got worse with a quarter-of-an-hour remaining when Matthew Andrews was dismissed for a second bookable offence.
