Queen's University boost their hopes of making the promotion play-off spot with this narrow defeat of Moyola Park at The Dub.
Peter Thompson's side effectively need just one point to secure the runners-up place to meet Dergview for a place in the Championship next season.
Visitors Moyola packed their defence from the start and made it difficult for Queen's to penetrate.
The Students did most of the attacking and Ronan Young had no luck when his low shot hit the post and rebounded to safety after half-an-hour.
The breakthrough came in first half stoppage time when Eamon Fyfe's shot from the left side of the box was deflected past Marcin Farniok in the Moyola goal.
Queen's continued on top in the second half but found a resolute Moyola defence hard to get past. Moyola came forward more towards the end and came close to an equaliser but Queen's held on for a vital three points.
