Newington took a big step towards securing their Premier Intermediate League status for another season with victory over Portstewart at Solitude.
The Swans are six points clear of bottom club Donegal Celtic with only three games of the campaign remaining.
Lee Forgrave handed Portstewart an early lead, finding the net after ten minutes but two goals just before the break from Conal Burns and Ryan Morrison gave Newington the advantage going into the second half.
Morrison struck again with a quarter-of-an-hour remaining to extend Newington's lead and despite Johnny Stewart reducing the deficit deep into stoppage time there proved to be no way back for Portstewart.
