Although scoreless at the break Dollingstown did come closest to breaking the deadlock through Scott Adams and Andrew McMath, both of which were well dealt with by Jason Craughwell.

Gavin Taggart edged Newington into the lead a couple of minutes after the break from the spot after Nathan McConnell was adjudged to have impeded a visiting attack.

Padraig Scollay made it 2-0 on 70 minutes, walking the ball into the empty net after home keeper Stephen Croft dropped a cross from the left.

Taggart then added a third for the Swans with just under a quarter-of-an-hour remaining, beating the offside trap on the counter attack.

Dollingstown did earn a late consolation through substitute David Gray.
