TAGGART SPOT-KICK ENOUGH FOR NEWINGTON

Newington moved up to fourth in the table following this defeat of Portstewart at Solitude.

The Swans moved in front after 23 minutes when Richard Gowdy knocked home his first goal of the campaign but, just four minutes later, Luke McDowell levelled for Portstewart.

That was how it stayed until just after the hour when Gavin Taggart knocked home Newington's winner from the spot.
