HW Welders kicked off the new Championship Development League in style with a five-goal thumping of Moyola Park at Tillysburn Park.

Colin Nixon's side got off to a great start thanks to first half goals from Charlie Dornan and Jordan Arbuthnot from the spot, although Moyola will be cursing their luck after missing a penalty of their own.

After the break Scott Dornan grabbed two goals while Andrew Neill also got on the scoresheet.

Jonny Coulter also helped himself to a double as Ballyclare Comrades swept to a 3-2 defeat of Bangor. Scott Cummings got the other goal while Jordan Lucas and Lewis McComb scored for the Seasiders.

Elsewhere, Institute and PSNI hit five without reply past Larne and Knockbreda respectively while Newington needed just a single goal to get the better of Dundela.
