Cliftonville Olympic, Reserve League champions last season, picked up where they left off with victory in the newly launched Premiership Development League.
The Reds, now under the guidance of new manager Declan O'Hara, got off to a winning start courtesy of a 5-1 defeat of Ards II at Solitude.
Also hitting five goals were Linfield Swifts with Adam Salley and Jonny Frazer bagging a double each after Reece Glendinning had kicked things off with the opening goal in the defeat of Ballinamallard United at Suffolk Road.
Padraig Hughes also scored twice as Glentoran II swept past Dungannon Swifts in a 4-1 win at Stangmore Park.
Hughes lobbed the home 'keeper to open the scoring early in the first half before doubling up with a close range finish a short time later.
Indeed, all four goals came in the first half with Paul O'Neill and then Jack McLaren adding to the tally before the break.
Caolan Loughran grabbed Ballymena United's goal in their defeat of Crusaders at The Showgrounds while Glenavon travelled to The Cliff to trounce Carrick Rangers 4-1.
