Linfield are the first winners of the NIFL Premiership Development League.

Linfield won the title by five points with 2nd placed Ballymena United making them work very hard for their honours.

The Blues only lost 2 games all season along with a very impressive twenty six wins. They scored 120 goals (averaging over three per game) in the process with only conceding 24.

Manager Alan Dornan was very happy with the achievements of his side.

"The first year of the Premiership Development League has not only be successful for Linfield Swifts but enjoyable to be a part of. It was a very competitive season as Ballymena United Reserves, who are also a very good young side pushed us right to the final week.

"I am very proud of every player. To lose only two games in a season and score a remarkable 120 goals and concede only 24 is very encouraging.

"The Premiership Development League has also allowed us to involve a lot of our younger Linfield players who have not only played with but against experienced players within the Irish League.

"It has been encouraging to watch the players develop over the last season and they have worked extremely hard and are dedicated to progressing.

"I want to thank my backroom staff of Ian Crothers, Stuart Boyd, Mark Alexander and Paul Butler who have worked tirelessly throughout the season. I also want to thank David Healy and Ross Oliver for their support, involvement and encouragement especially in relation to our younger players."
