Coleraine bounced back from last weekend's derby defeat with a sweeping Friday night away win over bottom of the table Newry City.

The Bannsiders moved in front after 28 minutes through Dean Shiels when he made the most of some hesitation in the home defence to slot the ball past keeper Andy Coleman.

Newry were then reduced to ten men on 40 minutes after Dale Montgomery, booked for dissent after Shiels' goal, picked up his second caution of the game following a challenge on Jamie Glackin.

Despite this, Darren Mullen's side levelled five minutes into the second half after Tiarnan Rushe directed a composed finish past Chris Johns.

However, Coleraine regained the lead on the hour courtesy of Cormac Burke's rifled effort after Glackin's initial effort had been kept out.

Eoin Bradley then added a third with just under a quarter-of-an-hour remaining with a chip beyond Coleman's reach after beating a defender to a long ball forward.

Substitute James McLaughlin completed the scoring right at the end when got clear of the defence to finish with confidence.
