BANNSIDERS GRAB LATE POINT TO DENY GLENS

Substitute Eoin Bradley struck in the dying moments to ensure Coleraine left the Oval with a point from this clash with Glentoran.

After a cautious opening during which neither keeper was tested Brad Lyons had the first half chance when, from a partially cleared Adam Mullan throw-in, he blasted the ball wide.

It continued to be a game of few chances until the 35th minute when Elliott Morris saved well from Jamie McGonigle before, at the other end, John McGuigan fired over from outside the box.

But the deadlock was broken on 41 minutes. A Darren McCauley corner from the left was delivered towards the back post for Lyons to nod Coleraine in front.

Glentoran levelled early in the second half after a Dylan Davidson free-kick landed at the feet of Curtis Allen who wasted no time in turning the ball home at the back post.

Then, just after the hour, the Glens moved in front thanks to a stunning 30-yard drive from Peter McMahon, a right-footed effort into the top corner.

Bradley almost restored Coleraine's advantage only to smash a free-kick off the crossbar from the edge of the box while, soon after, a Darren McCauley ball was nodded just wide by Stephen O'Donnell.

However, Bradley earned a point for the Bannsiders with a powerful header in the closing moments of normal time after McCauley did well to deliver a cross from the left.
