CRUSADERS manager Stephen Baxter has won the Bet McLean Manager of the Month award for December.

It's the 16th time Baxter has lifted the prestigious NIFWA award. Baxter, who also won the November award, said, "It's a great honour for me on a personal level to win this award back to back.

"However, this award is not really a personal award, it's a team award. My players were superb for me in November and they have carried that into the month of December time and the busy Christmas schedule.

"I could not be more proud of them."

In the month of December, Crusaders maintained a 100% record with wins over Glentoran, Warrenpoint Town, Glenavon, Ballymena United, Cliftonville and Linfield.

Paul McLean of Bet McLean said, "The Crues were superb over the Christmas period. I'd like to congratulate Stephen on his well-deserved award."

With 16 awards, Stephen Baxter is the third most successful manager in NIFWA history. He is only better by David Jeffrey on 34 awards and Ronnie McFall on 22.

NIFWA Chairman Keith Bailie said, "There's no doubt Stephen is up there with the best managers in the history of Irish League football. He is a well-deserved winner of our December award."
