BLUES STRIKE LOAN DEAL FOR CAMPION

Linfield manager David Healy has brought Cork City striker Achille Campion to the club on loan for the remainder of the 2017/18 Danske Bank Premiership season.

The 27-year-old French forward, has previous spells in his native France, the United States and Norway before a move to England with Port Vale and Torquay United.

In August 2016 he moved to the League of Ireland with Sligo Rovers and later joined Cork City for their 2017 campaign, where he won a League and Cup double, scoring in the FAI Cup Final victory over Dundalk.

Blues boss Healy told the official Linfield website: "He's a player we know well and have seen play live several times. He will add experience and quality to the options available to us in our forward line and I'm really looking forward to starting to work with him in training.”

Campion is the second of Linfield’s January signings, following fellow League of Ireland striker Kurtis Byrne to South Belfast.

Next up for Linfield in the Danske Bank Premiership is a re-arranged trip to Carrick Rangers on Tuesday 9 January (kick-off 7.45pm).
