CALDWELL GOAL SAVES REDS AT STANGMORE

DUNGANNON Swifts maintained their great start to the season with this draw at home to defending champions Cliftonville.

The Swifts might have stormed into the lead as early as the second minute when, from a Darren Boyce cross, Jamie Douglas headed off the bar while Shane Mulgrew's follow-up was saved by Conor Devlin.

Cliftonville were thwarted by the woodwork themselves inside the opening half-an-hour after a Liam Boyce free-kick was tipped onto the bar by Gareth Buchanan.

And Buchanan came to Dungannon's rescue again towards the break when he produced a full stretch save to turn away a low Martin Donnelly free-kick.

The Swifts moved in front on 64 minutes after Darren Boyce pounced to knock home the loose ball after Devlin had fumbled a Matt Hazley free-kick.

But the Reds levelled eight minutes later through substitute Ciaran Caldwell with a shot beyond Buchanan after Boyce had delivered a set piece from the left.
